A certificate that the family's name is in the below-poverty-line list held by the Gram Panchayat.
What it is
This certificate states, according to the Gram Panchayat's records, that the family is included in the government-recognised below-poverty-line (BPL) list. The Gram Panchayat can give information only from the entries in the list it holds.
What it is used for
- For some schemes or fee concessions, when the relevant office asks for the certificate
Documents usually needed (guidance)
Please confirm the final list of documents at your Gram Panchayat office. This list is general guidance, not an official list of legal conditions.
- A written application
- A copy of the head of the family's identity card
- A copy of the ration card (if any)
- The number in the list or an earlier certificate (if known)
How to apply
- Give an application at the Gram Panchayat office and ask them to check your family's entry in the list.
- After submitting, take an acknowledgement or inward number and keep a copy of the application.
- If an entry is found the office issues the certificate. If the name is not in the list, ask the office why.
Where to apply
Gram Panchayat office (Gramsevak / Gram Panchayat Officer)
Fee and time
Any fee is fixed by the Government or by law and is taken against an official receipt. No amount or time limit is stated here. If the service is notified, confirm its time limit on the Aaple Sarkar portal or at the Gram Panchayat office.
Please note
The BPL list is based on a survey fixed by the Government and the Gram Panchayat cannot change it. Ask the relevant government office how a name is added or corrected. Confirm the final documents, eligibility, fee (if any) and time at the relevant office or on the official website; they are not fixed here.
